Permanent Makeup (PMU) is a form of cosmetic tattooing.  Some of the services included within this modality are Microblading, Ombre Powder Brows and Combo Brows. Microblading is performed using extremely small micro-blades specially designed to make a cut on the skin similar to a paper cut (very small and superficial). Ombre Brows, on the other hand, are designed using a tattoo machine and a fine tattoo needle. Meliora Beauty LLC uses only the finest needles on the market. All the needles are sterilized and packaged by their manufacturer. Needles are disposed of after every single client (no exceptions).

MICROBLADING: Creates a more natural, fluffy brow. It is perfect for people with sparse brows who want to fill in some gaps or correct some brow asymmetry. This style is also great for male clients who are looking to fill in their brows a bit more. Who is a good candidate for this technique? People with dry to normal skin and small pores. People with thick or oily skin might lose pigment quickly and require more frequent touchups to maintain this style. If you like to workout a lot which causes sweating or work in a kitchen which can make the skin oily, you might want to consider the other styles.

OMBRE POWDER BROWS: This technique is extremely popular and for good reason. It is suitable for all skin types and lasts 2-3 years after touchup. It creates the effect of a makeup brow pomade. This style is definitely bolder than Microblading but it also creates a sharper, more defined brow.

COMBO BROWS: This stye combines both Microblading and the Ombre Brow shading technique. Who can benefit from this style? People that like a softer front of their brows and a sharper tail. Microblading is done at the front of the brow and shading gives the brow a sharp and sleek outline.

Permanent Makeup performed by ANY artist is considered a permanent procedure. Why? Because even though it does fade overtime, the ink implanted on the outermost layers of the skin cannot be washed off. Removal of Permanent Makeup can only be done by a professional with a saline solution or laser treatments. With Permanent Makeup the tattoo needles and micro-blades do not go as deep as with a regular tattoo but they will still inject pigment into the skin. The speed at with the Permanent Makeup fades varies from one person to the other. Microblading usually fades within 1-2 years and Ombre Brows last about 2-3 years. However, this can change depending on the person's skin and lifestyle.

Most people report experiencing some discomfort. However, Permanent Makeup is generally not painful. Numbing creams are also used throughout the procedure as needed. 1 Month before:

• Refrain from getting any cosmetic procedures, Botox, fillers, chemical peels, brow lamination, brow tint or brow henna. Ideally, Botox should be done after microblading is healed.
• Avoid excessive sun exposure and skin exfoliants that may irritate skin. We do not want to tattoo on scabs or damaged skin to avoid scarring.

A week before:

• Avoid retinol products, acne treatments or salicylic acid. Retinol, specifically, can fade Permanent Makeup if applied on area tattooed.
• If possible, diminish the use of blood thinning medication and substances like alcohol and coffee. 
• Avoid brow tweezing, waxing, threading or tinting. We will not be able to see what we are doing if the area is covered with henna, hair dye or brow tint.

24 hours before:

• Avoid alcohol, coffee and smoking to avoid excessive bleeding.
• If possible and allowed by your doctor, stop using any blood thinning medication. Some examples are ibuprofen, anticoagulants, aspirin, Coumadin, Turmeric, White Willow, among many others. These may cause excessive bleeding during the procedure that may push out the pigment causing poor pigment retention.

1 hour before:

• Make sure to eat and drink enough water. And get excited!

Your brows will look great! However, if they swell or release drops of lymph, this is completely normal. Remember, your brows just went through a tattooing procedure and need for you to take care of them. Be patient, at first, the brows will look darker. I like to tell my clients that for the first week or so, the brows will look like they have ink coating them. This look with slowly peel. It should not have thick scabs. The brows with be flaky and they might even fade. Do not get scared, the color will come back and, after 4 weeks, you will be able to see the results. At that point, you can choose not to schedule a touchup if you love your results. If you wish to add more color, correct some asymmetry or add anything in particular, you can schedule a touchup.

First thing is first: your brows will be much darker and bolder in the hours and days following your appointment because they are healing. We recommend that you get a touchup within 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. Here are other suggestions:

• Do not peel the thin scabs, scratch or touch your brows. Peeling scabs will result in pigment loss.
• Do not wet area. Avoid pools, saunas and sweating. To shower or wash hair, face away from the water and avoid wetting brows until they are fully healed (after 2-3 weeks).
• Avoid sunlight exposure while healing. Being in the sun causes tattoos to fade and look smudgy. After healed you can use SPF on area to be in the sun.
• Do not get any of the following procedures done until brows are fully healed: eyelash extensions, brow tinting, waxing, Botox, fillers, facials, face scrubs, etc. 
• Avoid using retinol, acne treatments and facial acids on your new brows.
• Sleep on your back and on a clean pillow to avoid contaminating area or rubbing off pigment.
• Blot brows to keep area dry and use the ointment provided once or twice a day to promote healing. Only apply a thin layer of the ointment because the skin needs to be able to breathe. Not doing so will result in thick scabs and pigment loss.
• When brows are fresh, they may look as if they had ink on them such as henna. This look is only temporary. Once they heal, the pigment will look more like a powder eyebrow makeup has been applied.

Trust the process! It takes some time for the brows to heal and for you to get used to the new look but the investment will be worth it!

Permanent Makeup is just like any other tattoo. It is generally safe but here are some contraindications:

1. Having a blood clotting illness that can cause excessive bleeding (hemophilia, thrombocytopenia, etc.)
2. Diabetes can affect the healing of tattoos and lead to infections
3. Cancer or cancer treatments can delay the healing process 
4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding
5. Allergies to numbing agents such as epinephrine, lidocaine, tetracaine and others
6. Experiencing a skin irritation or breakout (eczema, acne, psoriasis, etc.) at the time of getting the tattoo and in the area being tattooed or the surrounding areas

Meliora Beauty LLC artists will do their best to inform clients of possible complications and contraindications. However, Meliora Beauty LLC artists are NOT medical professionals. If you have any health concerns we highly recommend that you consult a medical professional before booking. Please follow the recommendations and suggestions of your doctor.

We can do coverups. However, before booking do send us a photo through email or text to see if a coverup is possible. In most cases, there is something we can do to cover the old tattoo; but, if  your brows are still dark (even if it looks like a dark shadow) we might have to wait until they fade more. Do send us a photo and we can schedule a call or a consultation for you. 

PMU is an important investment. Our policies are strictly enforced to ensure that we are providing the best service.

 DEPOSIT: A non-transferable deposit will be required to schedule any appointment.

CANCELATIONS: All cancelations should be made 48 hours before appointment to be considered for a refund or a reschedule. Cancelations made beyond that point will lose deposit.

NO SHOWS: Unfortunately, no-shows will have to be charged the full price of the service and might lose the opportunity of booking again.

TARDINESS: Tardiness of more than 15 minutes will be considered a "NO SHOW" and charged the full price.

PAYMENT: We prefer cash. If you use a debit or credit card, there will be a 5% service fee applied to the total price.

VISITORS: Our studio has no space for extra visitors. Children are not allowed inside the studio under any circumstance. Please plan ahead.

TIME: Please set aside four (4) hours for the appointment. We may finish before then but quality takes time and we do not want to rush the process.

AGE: Bring ID with you. Must be 18yrs or older to get a tattoo. No exceptions.
